Updated Checked by the Tax-Services.ca editorial team How we check
You can’t walk into a CRA counter in Edmonton and ask about your return. The CRA’s own office page says there is no walk-in counter service at its locations, and the Edmonton address on that page, Canada Place at 9700 Jasper Avenue, is where the agency receives mail. So for CRA Edmonton questions, the real options are the phone, your online account and the chat services.
Where is the office in Edmonton?
The CRA lists it at Canada Place, Main Floor, 9700 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton AB T5J 4C8. Mail goes to Suite 10 at the same street address. That’s all the page gives you. An address, a mailing line, and a flat no on counters.
Turning up in person is a wasted trip. And if a letter from the CRA tells you to send something, use the address printed on that letter, since it can differ from the general one.
| Item | What the CRA page shows |
|---|---|
| Office location | Canada Place, Main Floor, 9700 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton AB T5J 4C8 |
| Mailing address | Suite 10, 9700 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton AB T5J 4C8 |
| Walk-in counter | None |
How do you get an answer from Edmonton?
Start with your CRA account. You sign in on the CRA login services page, and it’s the fastest way to see your balance, refund status and notices. If you’d rather talk, the personal tax line is 1-800-959-8281, open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern. That’s 6 am to 6 pm in Edmonton, which trips people up on a morning call.
For benefit questions, such as the child benefit or GST/HST credit, the CRA lists 1-800-387-1193 with the same hours. The automated lines run from 6 am to 3 am Eastern. There is also an online chat and a chatbot, both linked from the CRA contact page.
Is there free help with filing in Edmonton?
Possibly. The CRA runs the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, and its tax help page points to free tax clinics. We couldn’t confirm income limits, because the CRA pages we found don’t agree with each other, so we’ve left the dollar figures out. Check the CRA page before you book anything, and look for a clinic that serves your situation.
Small point, big difference.
Self-employed people and small businesses can also ask for a visit from a CRA liaison officer, either online or in person. That one is free too, according to the same page.
What should I check before I call?
Nobody enjoys sitting on hold for forty minutes only to find the notice is in the other room, so a few minutes of prep pays off. Have your social insurance number, the notice of assessment you’re asking about, and the line numbers if it’s a return question.
Do a rough estimate first, because knowing roughly what the answer should be is what lets you spot a wrong assessment while the agent is still on the line. If a refund looks low, plug your numbers into the tax refund calculator. If you’re unsure which credits you should have claimed, the tax credits calculator lists the federal ones (it doesn’t cover Alberta’s own credits). And for a fuller picture of what you owe, try the income tax calculator with your province set to Alberta.
What goes wrong when people search for this office
The main mistake is treating an office address as a service desk. The second is sending documents to a general address when a letter names a different one. And the third is trusting a phone number from a search result. Use the numbers on the CRA contact page.
The CRA also lists a separate line for fraud and identity theft, 1-833-995-2336, open Monday to Friday. If someone calls claiming to be the agency and you’re unsure, hang up and call a listed number yourself.
Where the numbers come from
The addresses, phone numbers and hours come from the Canada Revenue Agency’s contact and office location pages, read on 30 September 2026. Hours and numbers can change, so treat them as a starting point. This website has no connection with the CRA or any government body.
