Revenue Canada in Winnipeg, and how to reach it

Updated Checked by the Tax-Services.ca editorial team How we check

If you’re looking for Revenue Canada in Winnipeg, there is no walk-in counter to go to. The CRA’s own office page says so in plain words. Mail goes to a Winnipeg tax centre, and questions go by phone or through your online account.

A quick word on the name. “Revenue Canada” is what many people still say, but the agency you deal with today is the Canada Revenue Agency, so we use CRA below.

Can you walk into Revenue Canada in Winnipeg?

No. The CRA’s office locations page states that there is no walk-in counter service at its locations, which means the Winnipeg tax centre is a mail room and a processing floor rather than a front desk. Winnipeg has a tax centre, which handles mailed documents. It’s not a place to drop in with a shoebox of slips.

Winnipeg also has several Service Canada Centres. Those serve other federal programs, and we couldn’t confirm that any of them handle CRA tax questions, so call before you travel.

Who do you call, and where does the mail go?

For personal tax, the general enquiries line is 1-800-959-8281 and the benefits line is 1-800-387-1193. Hours and wait times change, so check the CRA contact page before you dial. Many tasks can be done through My Account without speaking to anyone, and the CRA runs automated phone lines for return status, refund information and account balances.

Paper mail is different. The CRA’s address page lists a Winnipeg tax centre for personal income tax (T1) documents and another mailing line for corporation (T2) documents. The pages we read gave different post office boxes for the same centre, so we won’t quote one. Copy the address from the CRA page, not from a directory.

What does the provincial tax look like?

The Manitoba lowest rate is 10.8%, and the basic personal amount is $15,780 for 2026. The CRA payroll tables and its personal rates page disagree on where the higher Manitoba brackets start, so we only give rates and examples below those thresholds.

Manitoba item 2026 figure
Lowest rate 10.8%
Basic personal amount $15,780
Value of basic amount as a credit $1,704 (15,780 at 10.8%)

Picture a Winnipeg worker with $40,000 of taxable income. Our engine puts Manitoba tax at about $2,616 and federal tax at about $3,297, so the combined bill is $5,912.

That’s a guide to your yearly tax. It isn’t a payslip, and it ignores credits beyond the basic amounts, such as tuition or medical claims, which would lower the bill. For the pay side use the take-home pay calculator, and for the yearly view use the income tax calculator.

What should you have ready?

Get your facts in one place before anything else. You’ll want your social insurance number, your address, the tax year and any letter reference. If the call is about a refund, run the tax refund calculator first, so you know what size of refund is reasonable.

Still have a question about a balance owing? Write down the amount and the date on the notice, and have the notice in front of you when you call.

And a practical tip: use My Account for status checks. It saves the call.

What we couldn’t confirm

We couldn’t find a CRA page giving Winnipeg opening hours for any counter. We also don’t state 2026 filing dates, because the CRA hasn’t published them for the return you’ll file next spring. Anything else that depends on an office, such as appointments, should come from the CRA page itself.

Where the numbers come from

Contact details come from the Canada Revenue Agency pages on office locations, tax services offices and tax centres, and contact information. Manitoba rates and the basic amount come from the CRA payroll tables (T4032-MB) for 2026. The tax examples use our calculators. This site has no link to the CRA or to Manitoba.
