Canada Revenue Agency in Surrey: what you can do there

Updated Checked by the Tax-Services.ca editorial team How we check

You can’t walk in to a Canada Revenue Agency Surrey office and get your return sorted at a counter. The CRA’s own office page says there is no walk-in counter service at its listed locations, and Surrey appears on that page as a mailing address, 9755 King George Boulevard, Surrey BC V3T 5E1. Most of what you need happens by phone, online or by mail.

Can you visit the Canada Revenue Agency Surrey address?

Surrey is listed by the CRA under the Fraser Valley and Interior tax services office, next to Penticton and Kelowna. Vancouver, Victoria and Prince George sit under a different BC office. That’s the agency’s own grouping, and it’s about who handles files, not where you can turn up with a shoebox of receipts.

So don’t drive there. Search results for a “CRA Surrey” address will often look like a public office, and the agency says otherwise.

We also found no Surrey tax centre on the CRA’s list of tax centres. That page names four: Jonquière, Sudbury, Prince Edward Island and Winnipeg.

How do you reach the agency from Surrey?

Need Where to go
Personal taxes and benefits 1-800-959-8281, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern
Canada child benefit, GST/HST credit 1-800-387-1193
Refund status, balance, address change My Account online, or the automated phone service
Mail sent to the Surrey address 9755 King George Boulevard, Surrey BC V3T 5E1

The contact page warns that calls may be pushed to automated services when volumes are high, and it had no wait time to show when we looked, so phone early in the day or use My Account, which handles most routine changes like an address update.

One caution on the mail address. The CRA lists it for specific correspondence, such as the International Waivers Centre of Expertise. Don’t post your personal return there unless a CRA page or letter tells you to.

Where can you get help with a return in person?

The CRA runs a community volunteer income tax program that offers free clinics to eligible people. It says you can check if you qualify and see what kinds of clinics there are. We left out income limits, since the CRA’s own pages don’t match each other on them, so read the current page.

Paid preparers are the other route. We can’t tell you what any local firm charges or how good it is. Ask for the fee before you hand over slips, ask who signs the return, and check that they’re set up for the CRA’s electronic filing.

What should you have ready before you call?

Have your social insurance number, your date of birth and last year’s return figures in front of you. If you’re asking about a benefit, know your family’s income, because that’s what the benefit is based on. The CRA says it uses net income to work out the Canada child benefit and the GST/HST credit.

Want to sanity check the answer first? Try the Canada child benefit calculator. With one child under 6 and $70,000 of family income, it gives $5,934 a year for July 2026 to June 2027. The GST/HST credit calculator does the same for that credit.

For a refund question, put your numbers through the tax refund calculator. On $60,000 of pay with $9,000 withheld in Ontario it shows a $679.50 refund. If yours is far off, that’s a fair reason to call.

Mistakes people make when they look for a CRA office

The first is trusting a third-party listing. Another is sending documents to a mailing address that belongs to a different service. A third is waiting for an in-person slot that doesn’t exist, and missing the April 30 deadline meanwhile.

Keep it simple.

Where the numbers come from

Office, phone and mailing details come from CRA pages on office locations, tax centres and contact information, read on 30 September 2026. The benefit and refund examples use the 2026 data we checked on 29 September 2026. This website has no connection with the CRA or any other government body. Office details change, so check the CRA pages before you act.
