This privacy policy explains what information Tax-Services.ca collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We’ve kept the language plain, and we’ll say it straight where we can. If something isn’t clear, ask us through the contact page.
Calculators: nothing leaves your browser
The numbers you enter into a calculator are worked out inside your browser. We don’t send them to a server, we don’t store them and we can’t see them. If you use the copy-link button, the numbers go into the web address so you can come back to the same result. That address exists only where you paste it.
What the site and our partners collect
Like most sites that carry ads, we use services from other companies. They may collect the following:
- Google Analytics records which pages are visited, how long people stay, the type of device and the approximate location. We use it to see which tools help and which don’t.
- Google AdSense shows advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies to pick ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage this in your Google ad settings.
- Ahrefs Analytics is a traffic counter that reports page views.
Our own server also keeps ordinary technical logs, such as the address of the page requested, the date and your IP address. They’re there for security and to fix errors.
Cookies and your choice
A banner appears when you first arrive, and it lets you accept cookies or adjust the settings. You can change your mind whenever you like by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser settings, or you can block cookies in the browser altogether. Blocking them won’t stop the calculators from working.
Contact form and accounts
If you write to us, we keep your message and the address you gave us, only to answer you and to fix the page you wrote about. If you create an account on the forum or the member pages, we store the details you enter, such as your name and email address, so you can log in. We don’t sell these details.
Who else can see your information?
We share information only with the service providers named above, with the hosting and email providers that run the site, and when the law requires it. Those providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States, under their own policies.
Your rights
Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it and to ask us to delete it. Send your request through the contact page and say which address or account it concerns. We reply within a reasonable time.
Is the site meant for children?
The site is written for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we update this page and its date, so look in now and then. Our editorial standards explain how we handle advertising and corrections.
