Tax dates are easy to miss when half of them don’t apply to you. Pick the description closest to your situation and you’ll see only the CRA dates that matter to you over the next 12 months. No sign-up, nothing is saved, and no personal details are asked for.
Dates that fall on a weekend move to the next business day. Federal holidays are not modelled, so check the CRA for the exact date. Nothing you pick is stored or sent anywhere.
Why do the dates differ by situation?
Employees mostly deal with one deadline, 30 April. If you run a business or work for yourself, the filing date moves to 15 June, but the tax you owe is still due 30 April, which trips up plenty of people every June. Instalments and payroll remittances add more dates through the year.
What if a date falls on a weekend?
The CRA treats a due date that lands on a Saturday or Sunday as the next business day, and the list above already does that. Holidays are not modelled, so double-check the exact day on the Canada Revenue Agency site if a date sits close to one.
Where can you read more?
The Canadian tax calendar lists the main dates for the whole year, and Canada’s tax year explains which year each rule belongs to. This is an independent information site, not the CRA, and these dates are for general guidance only.
