Updated Checked by the Tax-Services.ca editorial team How we check
CRA Sudbury means the Sudbury Tax Centre, and on the CRA’s own address page it’s a mailing destination: 1050 Notre Dame Avenue, Sudbury ON P3A 5C2 for income tax and benefit returns. If you live in the Sudbury area and were hoping for a counter to walk up to, read the next section before you drive anywhere.
Can you visit the CRA in Sudbury in person?
We couldn’t confirm that. The CRA’s page lists Sudbury as a tax centre with two mailing addresses. It says nothing about walk-in service, opening hours or appointments, and it points people to submitting documents online instead. So we won’t tell you there’s a public counter, or that there isn’t one.
If you need a person, the safest route is to start from the CRA’s contact pages on Canada.ca or your CRA account, not from a listing on a directory site.
Where do you mail things to the Sudbury Tax Centre?
There are two addresses, and the postal codes differ by one character. That’s the kind of detail that gets a letter delayed.
| What you’re sending | Address |
|---|---|
| Income tax and benefit returns | Sudbury Tax Centre, 1050 Notre Dame Avenue, Sudbury ON P3A 5C2 |
| Other documents or correspondence | Sudbury Tax Centre, Post Office Box 20000, Station A, Sudbury ON P3A 5C1 |
The same page lists tax centres in Winnipeg, Prince Edward Island and Jonquière as well. It tells you to mail a paper return to the appropriate tax centre, and it has a selector for that. We haven’t confirmed which one covers your postal code, so use the selector on the CRA page instead of guessing from a neighbour’s advice.
Do you need to mail anything at all?
Probably not. The CRA’s NETFILE and ReFILE services are open for transmission from Monday, February 23, 2026, until Friday, January 29, 2027. You can file returns for the 2018 to 2025 tax years through them, using certified software.
If you do mail something, use a method with a tracking number and keep a copy.
The dates for the 2026 tax year haven’t been published as far as we’ve seen. For the 2025 return, the filing and payment deadline for most people was April 30, 2026. Self-employed people had until June 15 to file, but any tax owing was still due April 30.
What can you estimate before you contact the CRA?
Much of what people phone about is a number they could have checked first. Wondering whether a refund looks right? Take a Sudbury employee earning $75,000 with $14,000 of tax withheld. The tax refund calculator gives income tax of $12,704.65 for the year (using Ontario rates) and a refund of $1,295.35. With only $10,000 withheld, the same person owes $2,704.65.
That’s a useful check against your notice of assessment. If your figure is far off the estimate, look for a missing slip or credit before you call. The income tax calculator shows the total tax and what’s left after CPP and EI, and the tax installments calculator is for people who pay tax in instalments during the year.
These are estimates. They leave out benefits, refundable credits and many claims. Only the CRA can give you your actual balance.
What mistakes cause delays?
Sending to the wrong address is the common one, particularly mixing up the two postal codes above. Another is mailing a return when the online route would have taken minutes.
Don’t rely on a page that offers “tax help in Sudbury” and asks for your details either. We don’t know of any private service linked to the CRA, and we make no claim of any link ourselves. If a firm says it can speak for you, ask to see the authorization form you’d sign.
Where the numbers come from
The addresses come from the Canada Revenue Agency’s page on tax centres and offices, and the NETFILE dates from its NETFILE overview, both read in 2026. The 2025 return deadlines come from its filing dates page for that tax year. Income examples come from this site’s calculators, which use Ontario and federal rates for 2026.
